I am Thomas Buettner, a demographer and now – it seems – a blogger. I have been working as a demographer throughout my whole professional life. In 2011, after 20 years with the Population Division of the United Nations in New York, I retired and moved back to Germany.
I am still active as a demographer, working with two German NGOs on population issues, teaching demography and doing some really cool consulting work.
My main interest is technical demography, and projection methodology especially.
